Furness Building Society has appointed Helen Thistlethwaite as a business development manager in its intermediaries mortgage team.
Thistlethwaite joins from Penrith Building Society, where she most recently held the same role of business development manager.
She also brings previous experience as a mortgage broker and financial advisor.
In her new position, she will work directly with brokers across the North and Scotland to support homebuyers in securing mortgages.
Simon Broadley, chief commercial officer at Furness Building Society, said:
“We’re really pleased to welcome Helen to Furness Building Society. Helen is already making an impression with her impressive track record in the mortgage sector proving immensely beneficial to our Intermediaries team. With Helen’s help, we can continue to explore new ways to support our people, customers and communities.”
Thistlethwaite commented: “I’m really enjoying the role so far which has allowed me to stretch my knowledge of the mortgage market and work alongside some excellent brokers in the North of England and Scotland.”
Earlier in the month, Furness Building Society announced rate reductions across its entire range of residential, buy-to-let, and holiday let mortgage products.
