SDLT Support Service

As of the 16.03.26 we're redeveloping our searches template so it will offer;

• A comprehensive summary on page 2 of the report. ie. "everything" non standard can be reviewed in one go.
• Links to local authority contact points. 
• Internal links so the user can jump between sections and easily review maps.
• A slightly better layout. 
• An export feature so the user can export the contents of the report into Excel.

After we've finished with these developments we'll be adding an API link here to a firm called Compass (so our system will talk to their system) and from that fee earners can order SDLT advice.

The service will cost £99.00 + VAT and in return a tax specialist will call the client and run through the SDLT process. From a law firms perspective you will not need to register as a tax advisor, with the beurocracy that entails, and you will receive;

•  A SDLT certificate confirming the tax calculation 
• An indemnity, of upto £2 million, against errors. 
• The HMRC submission will be carried out on your behalf.

The new regime kicks in from May '26 and it's likely to be an interesting period as conveyancers either register as tax advisors or outsource the process. And, as mentioned, as soon as we've finished our search template upgrades we will develop this feature, here. We are expecting the system to be live by the end of March.
